New Cabinet: Buhari to Appoint 15 Special Advisers





President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly to seek their approval for him to appoint fifteen [15] Special Advisers. In a letter addressed to both the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila which the Speaker read at the floor of the House on Thursday, President Buhari wrote:

“pursuant to provision of Section 151 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) which confers to the president powers to appoint special advisers to assist him in the performance of his functions.

“It is my hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan yesterday at the senate announced that the much awaited ministerial list from the President may reach the National Assembly this week.
