United States President, Donald Trump on Friday said that he will not be attending the inauguration of president-elect Senator Joe Biden on January 20, 2021.
Trump who had deployed all manner of tactics including inciting Americans to take over the United States Congress all in a bid to stop the inauguration of Joe Biden has finally accepted the reality of his loss in the US November Presidential election.
In an unprecedented protest, violent Trump supporters on Thursday invaded the US Congress in an unsuccessful bid to stop the confirmation of the electoral college vote by the two chambers of the congress, the invasion left four people dead with several others seriously injured.
Mr. Trump has consistently claimed that the election was rigged without providing evidence. He had many court processes he instituted against the election thrown away at different courts in the country.
After the Thursday’s violent invasion of the US Congress which put paid to all Mr. Trumps agitations, he finally resigned to fate and accepted the outcome of the election but as usual tweeted that he was not going to attend the inauguration.
“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” he had tweeted.
