Aisha Yesufu, one of the iconic leaders of the ongoing #EndSARS protests across Nigeria on Saturday warned the federal government to perish the idea of rolling out the tanks against the young people protesting to demand good governance in the country.
Ms Yesufu warned that the Nigerian youths leading the protests is a technology savvy generation whose skills were way ahead of the brute antics of the older generation who are currently in leadership positions in Nigeria.
“The generation that cannot use simple email is challenging the generation that will say Alexa, make Eba and Efo riro before I get home and it will be done before they get home!
“Okay oooh! You might have the guns, they have the intellect,” she tweeted.
Several top government officials have been subtly calling for a confrontation with the protesters who have continued to peacefully protest despite the announcement by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu that the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) have been proscribed and a new unit, Special Weapons and Tactic (SWAT) established in its place.
Protesters have rejected the newly created SWAT unit and being a “renaming” of the old SARS.
