Disregard Rumours of Suspension of our Stakeholder, PDP Tells Members in Ebonyi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi state chapter has called on its members and supporters to disregard an announcement purportedly ongoing on the state’s radio station allegedly stating that critical stakeholders of the party, including all the nine National Assembly members of the have been suspended from the party.

The disclaimer was contained in a press statement issued by the State’s PDP Legal Adviser, Mr. Mudi Erenede on Friday in Abakaliki.

According to the statement, “ all genuine of the PDP in Ebonyi state are hereby advised to disregard the announcement  being made on the radio alleging that some critical stakeholders  of the PDP in Ebonyi state have been suspended from the party.”

The PDP statement called on its members and supporters to “take notice that the erstwhile Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi led State Working Committee of PDP  in Ebonyi state was validly  and legally dissolved by the National Working Committee of the PDP on Tuesday, the 17th of November, 2020 from which date they ceased to be officers of the party.

“Be further informed that the purported letter of suspension was written on Wednesday, the 18th day of November, 2020 as several ward Chairmen of the PDP who were invited to be part of the criminal plot  refused to participate in it.”

The party accused the dissolved former state working committee members of the party led by Mr. Nwebonyi of being agents of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who were bent on misinforming the public.

The National Working Committee of the PDP had on Tuesday November, 17, 2020 appointed a Caretaker Committee led by Mr. Fred Udeogu to pilot the affairs of the party in Ebonyi state after the earlier dissolution of the erstwhile SWC led by Mr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi.
